“As South Carolina’s largest healthcare provider, Prisma Health is committed to increasing access to care and improving health outcomes for our communities by providing the right care, at the right time, at the right location,” said Mark O’Halla, Prisma Health president and CEO. “The opening of the Northeast Medical Park represents a significant milestone in expanding outpatient services to meet the growing demand for high-quality, affordable and comprehensive care.”

The comprehensive healthcare services offered at Northeast Medical Park creates new career opportunities in the area and is expected to employ more than 70 team members.

“Moving appropriate outpatient surgical cases to a dedicated site like this offers many patient benefits, including easier access, lower costs and improved patient experience. At our local hospitals, this also helps improve capacity for growing inpatient volumes and for those who need longer stays,” said Jennifer Montgomery, Prisma Health Midlands Market CEO. “We are also proud to be creating more new jobs for skilled healthcare professionals in the Midlands.”

Dr. Patrice M. Weiss, chief medical officer for Prisma Health Medical Group, Midlands, and chief academic officer, is excited about all the new facility will offer to the community. “This state-of-the-art outpatient facility will offer greater access to surgical care at a lower cost than in-hospital procedures, with the same level of expert care. The Northeast Medical Park exemplifies our commitment to offering a wide array of primary, specialty and surgical services outside the traditional hospital setting.”

“I’m thrilled for the grand opening of Prisma Health’s new Northeast Medical Park in Senate District 19,” said South Carolina Senator Tameika Isaac Devine of District 19. “This facility will significantly expand access to exceptional medical services and reduce barriers to care, and I am grateful to Prisma Health for this demonstration of its commitment to the health and well-being of the people in our growing community.”
