Providence Cooks! Makes Healthy Eating at Home a Reality
July 26, 2012Upcoming event provides tips and cooking demo
COLUMBIA, SC – July 26, 2012 – Providence Hospitals’ Executive Chef and Registered Dietitian are once again coming together to provide Providence Cooks!-an educational class and gourmet dining experience focused on simple, healthy recipes.
All are invited to attend this event, which features a live cooking demonstration, question & answer session with Kay MacInnis, Registered Dietitian and a 3-course meal.
I see people all the time who have questions about what they should be eating, said Kay MacInnis, R.D., L.D., of Providence Hospitals. While everyone is different there are a set of guidelines that everyone should be following. It can be intimidating at times, however, so these classes are meant to provide a fun way to learn about how to prepare simple, healthy and tasty meals in your own kitchen.
The next event is on August 9 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Providence Hospital, downtown in the cafeteria located on the first floor. Complimentary valet parking is available at the main entrance.
These events are part of a series that kicked off at the hospital last November with Providence Cooks! for Diabetes.
Providence Cooks! events will be offered throughout the year and are a fun, informative and tasty night out aimed at helping people take control of their health through smart food choices.
The cost to attend is $20 per person and includes the full meal, recipes and a giveaway.
Space is limited and registration is required. To register, please call Providence Health Connect at 1-877-256-5381. For more information on this and other events at Providence Hospital visit www.providencehospitals.com/calendar.
