Quackenbush Architects + Planners announces new architectural intern

June 12, 2024

Quackenbush Architects + Planners is pleased to announce and welcome Christina Wise, Associate AIA, to the Q+ team as a new architectural intern.

Wise, who grew up in Clinton, South Carolina, has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University. She is thrilled to be part of a team that creates sustainable designs in the Palmetto state.

“I’ve always been drawn to Quackenbush’s commitment to the community and focus on sustainability,” she says. “It’s exciting to pursue my interests to continue to advance their work.”

Wise says she has a special interest in designing spaces to support multigenerational communities with unique features to fulfill their needs.

“I enjoy modeling as a first step to create spaces that are limitless, and then work to make them useful.”

One particular modeling project she designed for a low-income residence in Charleston as part of her Clemson portfolio used brick and glass as well as surrounding canal pathways that led to a retention pond. The design aimed to factor in periodic flooding in the city’s more low-lying areas.

“We’re happy to have Christina join the team,” says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “Her enthusiasm and interest in sustainable design will be an asset to our client work.”
