Youth Production Opens at the Arts Center of Kershaw County
The Arts Center of Kershaw County and the Kershaw County Theatre Guild will present the youth production of Quest for Quasi! written by Darleen Gonzalez and directed by Brianna Grant. Performances will be held Thursday – Saturday, March 24-26 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased online at www.fineartscenter.org or at the Box Office located at 810 Lyttleton St. Camden, SC. When Red Riding Hood wins a date with Quasimodo, the famous Hunchback of Notre Dame, on “The Dating Game,” she has a hunch she may have found the man of her dreams. But all this changes when the Wicked Witch of the West breaks up their date at McDonald’s and demands three items of power from Red — the sword in the stone, Captain Hook’s hook and the Blue Fairy’s wand. Red has only 24 hours to acquire the said articles while Quasi is held hostage in the Wicked Witch’s castle. Will Red get her hunch back? Will the Wicked Witch keep her end of the bargain? And if not, can Red and Quasi figure out a way to outwit her and end her wicked reign once and for all?
“This show is filled with lots of humor, mad-cap action and characters we all know and love,” states Jami Steele, Theatre and Education Director at the Arts Center of Kershaw County. “It’s a disorderly fairytale with an updated twist perfect for children of all ages!”
The cast includes: Levi Arnett, Rhea Baxley, Caroline Bowers, Mary Bradley, Lilah Gloe, Abbey Hester, Emma Hester, Mary Kathryn Jenkins, Mary Bradley Kirkland, Kandace Newton, Koralyn Newton, Raylan Nickerson, Reagan O’Hara, Emory Posey, Cameron Shrieber, Jadyn Shrieber, Jack Thomas, Johanna Tosh, Sadie Walker, Sophie Grace Walker, and Camden Wesley Wooldridge.
