The Fluor Foundation has donated $20,000 to the Greenville Tech Foundation to be used for scholarship assistance for students participating in the Quick Jobs with a Future program at Greenville Technical College.  The Quick Jobs program provides intense, job specific training that prepares a student for entry into career fields with current openings in the Greenville market.  Students are able to enter their new careers after three weeks to six months of training.

Of the total gift, $7,500 is intended for Quick Jobs scholarships, while another $12,500 is specifically earmarked for scholarship support of military veterans.

“The Quick Jobs Program would not have been able to help 34,000 people over 15 years without the generosity of the Fluor Foundation and our other corporate donors,” Said Steve Hand, director of the Quick Jobs program. “Quick Jobs training changes lives, and scholarship assistance allows many people who wouldn’t be able to take advantage of this option otherwise to obtain skills they can put to work right away.”
