R. Andrew Folks named Rotarian of the Year, Rotary Club of Five Points

R. Andrew Folks, South Carolina Power Team’s Business Retention and Expansion Manager, was recently named Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Five Points (Columbia).

The award recognizes Folks’ deliberate work as the club membership chair throughout the 2022-2023 Rotary year. During his tenure, the club added seven new members.

Folks has been a member of the Rotary Club of Five Points since 2005 and has earned multiple awards and held several different leadership positions including serving as Club President in 2013-2014.

Additionally, he was the recipient of the Rotary Club of Five Point’s “Service Above Self” award in 2010-2011 and 2019-2020. This award recognizes outstanding leadership and dedication to the ideals of Rotary.

Prior to this year, Folks has been honored as Rotarian of the Year in the 2005-2006 and 2012-2013 Rotary years.

“I am honored to be named Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Five Points,” said Folks. “Serving as the membership chair this past year has been extremely rewarding, and I am proud of what we were able to accomplish together. The support my colleagues at the South Carolina Power Team has provided me through my journey with Rotary means the world to me.”

Currently, Folks serves on the Rotary District 7770 Membership team. This district is made up of 78 Rotary clubs throughout Eastern South Carolina and includes approximately 5,000 Rotarians. In the 2023-2024 Rotary year beginning July 1, he will serve as one of the District’s Membership Success Advocates.
