October 16, 2014UpstateBizSC Podcast Series’ mission is to support leadership in Giving Back, Diversity, Entrepreneurship, Continuous Education, the Knowledge Economy and the Arts.
The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities is a public residential high school for emerging artists. The school gives artistically talented high school students from across the state the opportunity to study their art in a supportive environment of artistic and academic excellence. Arts concentrations include Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts.
On November 2, SCGSAH is hosting an afternoon soiree on Sunday, November 2 at Wavering Place Plantation, an antebellum estate in East Columbia.
Many arts celebs are SCGSAH alums, and no one in the Midlands knows about it! Yet. They include Tony award winner Patina Miller; HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” star Wrenn Schmidt; Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black” star Danielle Brooks, Fox TV’s “Sleepy Hollow” star Nicole Beharie, and Andrew Pastides (USC President Harris Pastides’ son).
