Ramon Nieves-Lugo selected as chair-elect of the Greenville Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council

The Chamber’s Hispanic Business Committee was formed in 2014, and Nieves-Lugo was an original member, which later changed its name to the Greenville Chamber Hispanic Business Council. Greenville Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council assists Hispanic business leaders in business development opportunities and growth to drive economic inclusion and diversity in chamber investment and engagement.
Nieves-Lugo has also been a member of the United Way of Greenville County’s LatinosUnited leadership group since 2014, which was created so Hispanic members could serve as role models for young Latinos in the Upstate by promoting community involvement, self-empowerment and education.
“Diversity and cultural awareness is essential to a thriving, vibrant economy and the Chamber and United Way offer me amazing opportunities to influence purposeful engaging programs that will drive economic inclusion and awareness in Greenville,” said Nieves-Lugo.
On March 23, 2017, Nieves-Lugo will be a panelist during The PIQUE, an annual young professional summit hosted by Ten at the Top (TATT), that gives young professionals an opportunity to network with Upstate business and community leaders. Nieves-Lugo will be part of the panel for the Breaking Glass Ceilings in the Upstate: Age, Gender, and Diversity discussion, which will be held at Wofford College.
