RCAEOP announces award recipients
August 14, 2018The Richland County Association of Educational Office Professionals (RCAEOP) was awarded 2nd place in the Rachel Maynard Communications Award for its publication “The Essential Piece.” The award was given at the annual conference of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP), held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, July 16 – 20, 2018. RCAEOP also received 2nd place recognition for its website. Congratulations to Mr. Luke Luesing, CEOE, newsletter editor, and Mrs. Jennifer Hedrick, CEOE, website coordinator.
NAEOP also presented awards for the National Educational Administrator of the Year and the Olive T. Ritchie Office Professional of the Year in addition to awarding several student scholarships. The association also recognized over 50 attendees who received their national designation in the Professional Standards Program (PSP). The PSP is the only program that offers a national certification specifically designed to acknowledge the achievement of educational office professionals, the Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) distinction. RCAEOP had five (5) members in attendance to be recognized for their participation in the PSP and South Carolina had a total of 21 attendees recognized for this achievement. Additionally, RCAEOP had four (4) members installed on the NAEOP executive board. Mrs. Jill Averyhart, CEOE, was installed as President Elect; Mrs. Paula Rosenberger, CEOE, was installed as Mid-Atlantic Area Director; Mrs. Georgette Council, CEOE, was installed as Administrative Council Chairman; and, Mrs. Louise Snipes, CEOE, was installed as Middle/Jr. High School Council Chairman. RCAEOP members Nona Montoya, CEOE, Lisa Blackwell, Marybeth Gawrys, CEOE, Yvonne Carrington, Tina Gregory, and Melody Wise Butler, CEOE, were also elected to various national committees at the conference.
The RCAEOP is a proud professional organization that represents the educational office professionals from Richland School District One and Two. The association provides professional development, networking and scholarship opportunities to their members. Additionally, it also provides student scholarships and engages in community service initiatives.
