COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Richland County Sheriff’s Dept. (RCSD), iHeartMedia Columbia, Plex Hi-Wire Family Fun & Sports Center, and the A&E television network are partnering for the 200th-episode celebration party of LIVE PD, Sat., Apr. 13 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight, at Plex Hi-Wire in the Village at Sandhills.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott along with RCSD’s regularly appearing LIVE PD deputies and other RCSD deputies and officers will join special guests and LIVE PD fans from around the country for autograph signings, photo opportunities, food and fun. The 200th episode event will feature K-9 demonstrations, law-enforcement static displays and all the other Plex activities like roller skating, laser tag, the trampoline park, and the games arcade. All Plex activities will be available at regular prices. All LIVE PD and RCSD activities will be free with lots of seating available for all attendees.
“This is but another way in which our RCSD family, friends, and fans can gather together for a night of family-friendly fun,” says Sheriff Lott. “It’s also a great way of bringing together all of our communities as we celebrate the 200th episode of A&E’s hit TV series which we’ve been a part of since LIVE PD first aired two-and-a-half years ago.”
Among the event partners will be several of iHeartMedia’s Columbia-area radio stations, including 104.7 WNOK, 97.5 WCOS, 100.1 The Beat, 96.7 Steve-FM, 560 WVOC, and Fox Sports Radio 1400, all of which will be promoting the party prior to the event. A few of the iHeartMedia stations also plan to broadcast live from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
“iHeartMedia Columbia is honored to partner with RCSD, A&E, Live PD, and Plex to bring the cast and crew of one of the most-watched shows on television to the people of Columbia and its surrounding areas,” says L. J. Smith, area-vice pres. of programming for iHeartMedia, “I doubt there is anyone who has not seen or heard of LIVE PD, and now everyone can come meet the officers and K-9s, and enjoy some amazing activities as well.”
Launched in Oct. 2016, A&E’s hit television series LIVE PD has become one of the most popular programs nationwide and around the world. The three-hour program, airing live, brings real-time dash-cam and other-video action coupled with the ordinary from routine patrols and high-speed chases to domestic disputes and drug raids into viewers’ living rooms two nights a week and at other times in pre-recorded segments.
