Reaching peak performance – Discover you own peak performance keys

November 16, 2014

By Jerry Bellune

We are really no different than top athletes.

To reach peak we need to be in Flow . . . or the Zone.

Last week we talked about getting into Flow.

If you missed this one, email me for a copy.

To perform at peak, adopt this simple habit:

At the end of each week answer these 12 questions.

It will make the difference between great and just good.

You’ll uncover what’s responsible for your high points.

You’ll find the root causes of your Flow.

Then you’ll begin to make changes to achieve it often.

Personal fulfillment leads to professional success.

Record your answers in your journal.

Don’t have one? Then start one, electronic or on paper.

Once you get started, you will want to:

• Review your answers from the previous week.

• Then answer the questions for this week.

1. What was your most exciting activity this week?

Look through your appointments and projects.

In which of these did you achieve Flow?

Which of these gave you a sense of joy and fulfillment?

2. How many such moments did you have?

List them with specific times they happened.

What patterns of behavior do you see?

Are their rhythms in your life day to day?

3. How many were boring and  when?

Which were not things you’re really good at doing?

Which of these were not really necessary to do?

Which could you eliminate or delegate?

4. How do you affect those around you?

Who do you like and have a positive effect on?

Who do you dislike and may affect negatively?

How can you increase actions with those you like?

How can you stop working with those you dislike?

5. How is this the type of impact you want?

What happens when you act with either group?

Is it positive, negative or anything else?

We take energy from those we enjoy being with.

Next week we’ll give you the other seven questions.
