Record turnout for 12th Annual Angel’s Tea & Silent Auction to benefit St. Lawrence Place

Over 200 people bought tickets to the 12th Annual Angel’s Tea & Silent Auction to benefit St. Lawrence Place, raising over $20,000 for the programs and services St. Lawrence Place provides to homeless families in the Midlands.

This year’s event featured a Fashion Show hosted by Angel’s Tea sponsor, Monkee’s of Columbia.

“ Not only is this event growing,” says Homeless No More CEO Lila Anna Sauls, “but we loved seeing so many new people attending Angel’s Tea for the very first time. This let’s us know that the word is spreading about the important work Homeless No More is doing in the Midlands through all of its programs.”

It has been a busy spring for Homeless No More. The nonprofit that operates St. Lawrence Place and Live Oak Place affordable housing program announced in March that Family Shelter is part of the Homeless No More family.

“St. Lawrence Place and Family Shelter have been working together for years on behalf of homeless families. This is a natural fit, and we are excited to officially welcome Family Shelter to the Homeless No More family,” Sauls said.

As the Midlands only provider of Emergency Housing for homeless families, Family Shelter is a vital link for many in our community who find themselves in dire circumstances.

“ To truly address the issue of family homelessness in a community we must meet people where they are with services that make a difference. Along with our partners, we’ve been hard at work developing a seamless continuum of programs and services that ensures no one falls through the cracks,” Sauls says. “To see a record turn out at Angel’s Tea- that is icing on the cake.“

Homeless No More is a private nonprofit that knows family homelessness is a temporary problem, not a chronic condition. Through programs like Family Shelter, St. Lawrence Place and Live Oak Place, we are helping parents and children achieve lasting independence. Our organization seeks to eradicate family homelessness.
