Residents urged to secure property
September 11, 2018In anticipation of Hurricane Florence, Horry County Emergency Management officials are urging county residents not in evacuation zones to ensure that their properties are secured before the storm arrives.
Family disaster supply kits should be in place and fully stocked with items such as non- perishable food, bottled water (enough for each family member including pets for at least 2-weeks), clothing, batteries, a radio, flashlights, medications, infant items, toiletries, tools, important documents, and extra cash.
Ditches near the property, gutters, and downspouts should be cleaned of any debris so that they can properly carry water.
Any outdoor items should be brought inside or securely anchored in place.
The most up-to-date information on Hurricane Florence and Horry County Government operations can be found on the County’s website at www.horrycounty.org.
