Revolutionary War Hero General Andrew Pickens to be Featured in Lecture at Laurens County Museum
April 1, 2025The legacy of South Carolina General Andrew Pickens, one of the most revered Patriots of the Revolutionary War, will be highlighted during a special lecture at the Laurens County Museum on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:00 pm.
Historian and battlefield preservationist Durant Ashmore will take the stage to share insights into the life and achievements of General Pickens, whose leadership and bravery made him a celebrated figure in South Carolina’s fight for independence. Known for his strategic acumen and unwavering commitment to the cause, Pickens played a pivotal role in several key battles during the war.
The event is open to the public and promises to be an enlightening evening for history enthusiasts and community members alike. Museum members and youth are invited to attend for free, while a suggested donation of $5 from non-members will help support the museum’s ongoing programs and initiatives.
The Laurens County Museum, located at 116 South Public Square in Laurens, SC, welcomes visitors to explore its exhibit hall from Tuesday through Saturday, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
