Revolutionary War Lecture Series Continues November 11 at Laurens County Museum
November 4, 2025The Laurens County Museum will continue its Revolutionary War Battle Lecture Series on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Historian and battlefield preservationist Durant Ashmore will present “The War in the North, 1775–1778” at the Museum, located at 116 South Public Square in Laurens.
The program will explore how the early years of the Revolutionary War set the stage for ultimate Patriot victory. By 1778, the American forces had joined with the French in an effort to turn the tide against Britain. While Charleston and Savannah fell under British control that year, key successes from Virginia northward laid the groundwork for the eventual triumph in the South.
The lecture is open to the public. Admission is free for museum members and youth, with a suggested $5 donation for non-members to support the Museum’s educational programs.
