Richland County’s Past and Recent History Highlighted in Booklets, Video

December 22, 2014

Richland County is releasing two publications and a video to culminate celebrations of the County’s 215th anniversary.

One booklet, “A Brief History of Richland County,” gives a quick overview of the County from its beginning to modern times. The “2014 Year in Review” booklet offers highlights from the year and has an accompanying video.

Richland County’s boundaries were formally incorporated Dec. 18, 1799. Several events held throughout 2014, the video and the publications were designed to mark the 215th anniversary year.

The booklets and video, produced by the County’s Public Information Office, were unveiled at the County’s community drop-in Thursday night when residents met informally with Council members and County staff, and viewed plans to address future growth.
