Richland County names new manager of Office of Small Business Opportunity

August 27, 2017

Richland County has selected a new manager to lead its Office of Small Business Opportunity and help strengthen and support the local small business community.

Angela McCallum will oversee the office ―known as the “OSBO” ― that provides resources for local small and minority-owned businesses to fairly compete for contracts for Richland County and other organizations’ projects and services.  In her new role, McCallum will be responsible for planning and coordinating OSBO programs, including certifications, financial training, business development and outreach and education.

McCallum is an industrial engineer whose career spans 20 years of project management and strategic planning with global organizations such as Bose Corporation and Club Car. Her knowledge, experience and leadership made her the top candidate to lead the OSBO and bolster the County’s ability to meet the needs of the small business community.

The OSBO operates the County’s Small Local Business Enterprises Program, which provides an avenue for new businesses to become certified and eligible to participate in contract bidding. The program was created to give small businesses the opportunity to pursue contracts for Richland County Transportation Program projects.

McCallum will begin as OSBO manager in September.
