Richland Library adds Riverbanks Zoo passes to its Library of Things
February 26, 2026New passes available to borrow during National Library Lovers Month
During National Library Lovers Month, Richland Library is introducing a new way to connect the community to hands-on learning and family fun by adding guest passes to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden to its popular Library of Things collection, which allows cardholders to borrow items like tools, technology, and other hands-on resources.
This exciting addition enhances access to cultural and educational experiences for library cardholders, allowing families to explore wildlife habitats, conservation exhibits, and immersive learning environments right here in the Midlands.
Each Riverbanks Zoo and Garden pass covers daytime admission for two adults and up to four children, making it easier and more affordable for families to experience one of the region’s most beloved attractions.
Customers can conveniently reserve a guest pass online. The pass is valid for unlimited daytime general admission during zoo hours over a two-week loan period and may be reserved up to 90 days in advance. In addition to zoo admission, the community pass also includes a free COMET ride to and from the zoo. The COMET provides service to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden by way of Route 84 between Downtown Columbia and the St. Andrews community. Show your Riverbanks Community Pass for free access to and from the Zoo only on Route 84. Transportation to the Zoo on Route 84 is on request, every 60 minutes, during Riverbanks’ regular business hours.
While general admission is included, separate tickets are required for special attractions and experiences.
February is National Library Lovers Month, which makes this the perfect time to sign up for a library card and discover the many ways Richland Library connects people to knowledge, experiences, and each other.
