Richland Library Expands Team, Hires Locally

COLUMBIA, SC – Richland Library recently filled three coveted library positions with local candidates from the Midlands. Promotions include:

Georgia Coleman has been promoted to Director of Library Experience, Main. Coleman has worked at the library in a number of capacities but most recently as the Community Outreach Manager, where she demonstrated repeatedly that she is keenly focused on the community and fervently embraces new services. Coleman received her MLIS from the University of South Carolina.

Phillip Higgins has been named as Richland Library’s Marketing and Digital Strategy Manager. Higgins brings with him a notable amount of experience in marketing, customer service, web and social media management. Originally from East Tennessee, he is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.

Tamara King took over as the Community Relations Coordinator in December 2014. King has more than a decade of experience in broadcast journalism and public relations. A recent MLIS graduate from the University of South Carolina, she is the recipient of the Richland Library Foundation’s 2013 Ethel Bolden scholarship and was named a 2014 WIS TV Community Builder for her work to institute an adult literacy initiative at St. Lawrence Place.
