Richland Library Main Unveils $15 Million Design Changes

COLUMBIA, SC – The community will get a sneak peek of the future of Richland Library Main onApril 24 from noon – 2 p.m. or 4 – 6 p.m. in the C. David Warren Gallery. Library customers will have a chance to review and discuss the current renovation plans with Richland Library staff and project designers.
WHAT: Richland Library Main Unveils Renovation Plans
WHEN: Noon-2 p.m. & 4-6 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2015
WHERE: Richland Library Main, C. David Warren Gallery (1431 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201)
In summer 2015, construction will begin on the existing 242,000 square foot facility; redesign plans, include:
- New partnering spaces
- New conference rooms
- Digital teleconferencing rooms
- Exterior improvements for families and children
- New location and redesign of space for teens
- Addition of outdoor programming space
The renovation of Richland Library Main is expected to be completed by spring 2017. This renovation is a part of the $59 million bond referendum Richland County residents passed in November 2013, which will enhance library facilities over the course of the next several years.
