Richland Library recognized as a 2025 Library of Congress Literacy Awards Honoree

Richland Library announced that its Education Studio has been named one of the 2025 Library of Congress Literacy Awards honorees. The recognition was announced on International Literacy Day, September 8, 2025, as part of the annual program that highlights organizations making exemplary contributions to advancing literacy.

The award highlights current achievements and supports nonprofit organizations in strengthening their work in literacy and reading promotion. It encourages the sharing of effective practices to broaden their impact and the development of innovative methods to combat illiteracy.

Richland Library’s Education Studio was selected as a Successful Practices Honoree and awarded $10,000 to support its impactful literacy work in Richland County. The Education Studio offers personalized services and resources for learners at every stage, including one-on-one tutoring, academic support, digital literacy training, and test preparation. By meeting individuals where they are and helping them build confidence, the Education Studio strengthens the community through literacy and lifelong learning.
