Richland One students awarded National Merit Scholarships

Two Richland One high school seniors are among the 16 South Carolina students awarded corporate-sponsored 2018 National Merit Scholarships.

Richland One congratulates Peyton Bell of A.C. Flora High School and Jackson Reynolds of Dreher High School on their selection as winners of these prestigious scholarships. Peyton plans to pursue a career in engineering, and is the recipient of the National Merit Ingersoll Rand Company Scholarship. Jackson plans to pursue a career in chemical engineering and is the recipient of the National Merit American Financial Group Scholarship.

Both students were selected as winners from the students who advanced to the finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition. The scholarships, which recognize academic excellence, provide recipients $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. Other National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in May, June and July.
