Ridge View High School alumnus receives bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University
May 31, 2023Malcolm Wilson to continue his education at Queens University of Charlotte
After Malcolm Gregory Lee Wilson graduated from Ridge View High School in June 2019, he headed directly to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. to begin his collegiate career. Saturday, May 20, 2023 he graduated from the McDonough School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Wilson played on the Men’s Basketball team at Georgetown for four years. Wilson was recruited by NBA legend Patrick Ewing and the late Louis Orr who played for the New York Knicks alongside Ewing. Wilson was selected to the Big East Conference All-Academic Team every year since arriving on campus. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a Big East-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
In September 2020, Wilson was appointed to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee. He was one of only two student-athlete representatives selected for the committee to serve a two-year term. In March 2021, the Georgetown Hoyas won four consecutive games in four days to win the Big East Conference Men’s Basketball tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The team received an automatic bid to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament that was held in Indiana.
At Ridge View, Wilson was a member of two boys’ basketball championship teams (2018, 2019) and completed the BioHealth Sciences Magnet Program. At Georgetown, he majored in Finance.
Wilson recently accepted a scholarship offer to attend Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. At Queens University, Wilson will pursue a Master of Business Administration degree at the McColl School of Business and be a member of the Men’s Basketball team.
