Riverbanks scares up a fall favorite

Treat your family to 11 wild nights of Halloween fun with the return of Boo at the Zoo at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden on Friday, October 20.

Brought to you by McDonald’s, the spooktacular event offers guests safe, affordable, family-friendly festivities. Trick-or-treat throughout the Zoo, frolic in Frankenstein’s Foam Zone, take a Spooky Safari, enjoy Halloween hocus pocus with Ray’s Moonlight Magic and rock the night away at Mummy’s Eeky Freaky Dance Party.

For an additional charge, guests also are invited to toast s’mores, take a spin on the Haunted Carousel or hop aboard the Spooky Spots and Stripes Railroad.

Boo at the Zoo will take place – rain or shine – October 20-30 from 6:00pm-9:00pmTickets are limited and should be purchased in advance. Advance admission is $9 for Zoo members and $11 for the general public. Children under 2 will be admitted free. If tickets remain on any night of the event, those will be sold for $13 at the gate.

Trick-or-treating is reserved for kids 12 and under; children should bring their own reusable bags or containers. Costumes are encouraged. Adults may wear costumes but will not be admitted with masks that cover the face. Parking for the event is available on the Zoo side only at 500 Wildlife Parkway in Columbia.

For more than 40 years, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden has connected individuals, families and groups with the world’s wildlife and wild places. Riverbanks is a special purpose district governed by the Riverbanks Park Commission, which consists of seven members, two appointed by Richland County Council, two by Lexington County Council, two by the City of Columbia, and one jointly by the three entities. It is the mission of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden to foster appreciation and concern for all living things. Riverbanks Zoo is located at 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210. The Botanical Garden entrance is located at 1300 Botanical Parkway, West Columbia, SC 29169. The park is open daily from 9am to 5pm, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
