Robert Perrineau named principal of Military Magnet Academy
July 18, 2018Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced Dr. Robert Perrineau as principal of Military Magnet Academy. Dr. Perrineau has served as the school’s interim principal for the past several months.
Dr. Perrineau began his career in CCSD in 1999 at the former Rivers Middle School as a math and Algebra I teacher. During this time, Perrineau also served as a coherent curriculum integration teacher (CIT) for the district. In 2005, Perrineau joined the school administration at Burke Middle as an assistant administrator for grades seven and eight while also serving as a math teacher. He continued to teach math and Algebra I at Burke for the next six years before becoming an assistant principal for the 10th grade Success Academy and AP Academy Coordinator. Prior to serving as interim principal at Military Magnet, Perrineau was the assistant principal of Charleston County School of the Arts from 2014-2018.
Dr. Perrineau earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a Master of Education from Southern Wesleyan University, and an Educational Specialist and Educational Doctorate from Argosy University-Sarasota. He also acquired his P.A.C.E. certification in civil engineering and mathematics from Coastal Carolina University in 2000, and his Secondary Administrator and School Supervision Licensure from Argosy in 2010.
Perrineau has completed CCSD Principals for Tomorrow training, various evaluation system professional development, as well as served as a CCSD CIT teacher, teacher mentor, Common Core Implementation Facilitator, and athletic coach.
