Robert Sanders, Jr. Selected as Young Gun 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – Preferred Reinsurance Intermediaries, Inc. is pleased to announce that Robert H. Sanders, Jr., has been selected as one of the 40 “Young Guns” in the insurance industry by Insurance Business America magazine. Robert is featured in the magazine’s September/October issue.
Robert is Executive Vice President of Preferred Specialty, LLC, a wholesale brokerage firm, and a subsidiary of Preferred Reinsurance Intermediaries.. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Insurance & Risk Management. After graduation, Robert was selected as a NAPSLO Intern and worked with Essex Insurance Company and All Risks, Ltd in Richmond, Va.
Robert was honored with the Order of the Silver Crescent by Governor David Beasley in 1998. The Order of the Silver Crescent is the state’s highest civilian award for significant contributions, leadership, volunteerism, and lifelong influence within a region or community. The Order of the Silver Crescent is a once in a lifetime achievement.
Robert started his career as a reinsurance broker in 1999, but moved in a different direction after his NAPSLO Internship experience, by forming Preferred Specialty, LLC, in 2003. He received his ASLI designation in 2005 and his CPCU designation in 2007. Robert is actively serving as Senior Vice President on the UFO Board and is the Education Chair of NAPSLO’s Next Generation. He is active in the local associations and is currently serving on the South Carolina BIG I Young Agents Committee and has co-chaired the SC Young Agents Golf Tournament the past four years.
Robert lives in Columbia, SC and enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and his two daughters, Addison (6) and Anna Claire (5). In addition, he enjoys playing tennis, working at his farm, and supporting the South Carolina Gamecocks.
