Rockbridge Road bridge replacement

Rockbridge Road is now open in Richland County. The bridge replacement was completed ahead of schedule. Secretary of Transportation Christy Hall, Arcadia Lakes Mayor Mark Huguley, Representative Beth Bernstein, South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) staff and contractors cut the ribbon on the new bridge on June 7, 2016.

 

Rockbridge Road Bridge Replacement

 

  • The new bridge is 120’ long with (2) – 12’ lanes and 5’-6” of sidewalk along both sides; the roadway section consists of (2) – 12’ lanes with curb and gutter, no sidewalk
  • The contractor is United Infrastructure Group, with ICE as the Engineer of Record
  • The roadway was closed immediately after the flood event with on-site construction beginning in early March
  • The total (design and construction) contract cost for this bridge is $2,316,080; this bridge was one of the four in Emergency Package #4 and the total cost of the contract was $11,700,000
