February 19, 2025

The South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250) and the Berkeley County 250 committee invite the public to events in Berkeley County from March 6 to 7.

Attendees will have opportunities to visit American Revolution sites on a bus tour through Berkeley County, meet and greet with SC250 representatives and learn about state and county-level efforts to rediscover the Revolution.

The series of events will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a bus tour on Thursday, March 6, beginning at the Berkeley County Museum. The tour, led by David Reuwer of the S.C. Battleground Preservation Trust, will include stops at several sites of Revolutionary War significance across the county. The cost to attend is $15 cash and covers lunch.

Following the bus tour, attendees can meet and greet with local officials, state commissioners, local County 250 committee members and performers portraying Eliza Lucas Pinckney and other American Revolution icons. Attendees are encouraged to continue the conversation at a Dutch supper with the commission and guests at restaurants across the county.

The SC250 Commission meeting will take place on Friday, March 7, at Wampee Plantation/Somerset Conference Center with light refreshments and lunch provided. A virtual option will be available for those unable to attend in person. Discussions will include grant opportunities, events and upcoming projects.

All events, including the commission meeting, are open to the public.
