S.C. Institute on Sexual Violence Prevention to Participate in Birdies for Charity
February 10, 2026The South Carolina Institute on the Prevention of Sexual Violence on College Campuses (SCIP) has been selected as a participating charity in the 2026 BMW Charity Pro-Am Birdies for Charity. Presented by Michelin North America, this unique fundraising opportunity will take place June 1–7, 2026.
The fundraiser, held in conjunction with the BMW Charity Pro-Am, presented by TD SYNNEX, is a way for the community to support local nonprofits. Similar to a walk-a-thon, donors can pledge for every birdie made by professional golfers during the week of the tournament, or make a flat contribution instead. All pledges and donations may be paid in advance.
“Being selected as a participating charity in the 2026 Birdies for Charity is an incredible honor for SCIP,” said Dr. Matthew Hammett, executive director of SCIP. “This partnership not only provides vital financial support for our prevention and education efforts but also elevates statewide awareness of the importance of creating safer, more equitable college campuses throughout South Carolina.”
As a participating charity, SCIP will share a custom donation link with supporters, partners, and community members. Funds raised through Birdies for Charity will directly support SCIP’s mission to prevent sexual and interpersonal violence on college campuses across South Carolina through education, training, grantmaking, and collaboration.
In addition to supporting local charities, Birdies for Charity features an interactive element for donors. Participants are invited to guess the total number of birdies made by professionals in the tournament for a chance to win an exclusive Grand Prize, which includes:
“Birdies for Charity offers a fun, accessible way for our supporters and community partners to engage with SCIP’s mission and participate in a nationally recognized sporting event,” said Anna Catherine English, advancement and engagement officer for SCIP. “We’re excited to lead this fundraising initiative and invite our donors, campus partners and community members to make a pledge, submit a birdie guess and help us expand the reach and impact of sexual violence prevention efforts statewide.”
Community members are encouraged to support SCIP by making a pledge or donation and submitting their birdie guess through SCIP’s official Birdies for Charity link.
