S.C. War Hero to be included on 'Wall of Honor'

Induction ceremony set for Friday morning
 
COLUMBIA, SC – August 3, 2009 –  The late S.C. Representative  M.J. “Dolly” Cooper will be inducted into the S. C. Wall of Honor this Friday, August 7, 10:00 AM, at

The S.C. Military Museum
1  National Guard Road
Columbia, S.C.  29201-4752

Cooper served in the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting in six major campaigns and receiving the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Purple Heart, among other decorations.

Cooper served for 16 years in the S.C. House of Representatives, retiring from the legislature in 1990. He passed away April 26, 2009, at 88 years old.

The Wall of Honor is composed of outstanding South Carolinians whom have contributed to to both the state and nation.
 
Several general-officers will be attending the induction ceremony including Maj. Gen. Stanhope Spears, the adjutant general of S.C.
