Santee Electric Cooperative to host 86th annual meeting April 14

Santee Electric Cooperative will hold its 86th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 14, featuring a drive-thru registration process and a virtual business session. This year’s event, themed “Empower the Future,” offers members opportunities for utility credits and various prize drawings.

Registration and Member Benefits

Registration will be conducted via drive-thru from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the cooperative’s headquarters. Members are required to present a proper photo ID to complete the registration process. Cooperative members received their registration ticket as part of the March edition of South Carolina Living magazine, which also features information about nominations for trustee positions and annual report statistics.

Upon registering, each member will receive:

  • A $15 credit applied to their electric bill.

  • A complimentary rechargeable flashlight.

  • Automatic entry into the meeting’s prize drawings.

Virtual Business Meeting

The formal business portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live via Facebook. During the broadcast, cooperative leadership will provide operational updates and announce the recipients of the Operation Round Up scholarships and the Empower the Future awards.

Prize Drawings

The cooperative has announced an extensive list of prizes to be awarded at the conclusion of the business meeting. Entrants must be registered members to qualify. Featured prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: Craftsman 42-inch 17.5 HP riding lawn mower

  • Electronics: 11-inch Apple iPad and Apple AirPods

  • Utility Credits: Electric bill credits ranging from $100 to $500

  • Additional Prizes: Yeti Hopper Flip 12 coolers, Ecobee Smart Thermostats, and various gift cards.

Winners will be announced during the live stream. Members are encouraged to monitor the Santee Electric Co-op social media channels for further updates.

About Operation Round Up

The Operation Round Up program is a community-focused initiative where participating members “round up” their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. These funds are pooled to provide scholarships and support for local organizations and individuals in need throughout the cooperative’s service territory.
