SC Autism Society hires former news anchor as Director of Fundraising and Public Relations
December 8, 2017WEST COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Autism Society announced that it has hired retired award-winning journalist, Mary Sturgill as its Director of Fundraising and Public Relations. Sturgill’s duties will include organizing all of SCAS fundraising events. She will also be responsible for writing grants for SCAS. These duties ensure we continue to serve the families in South Carolina.
Sturgill says, “It is extremely important that those on the Autism Spectrum get the services they need to aid them in being productive and prosperous members of society. The fundraising we do, ensures we can provide much needed programs. I hope to increase fundraising efforts so that we can reach more people of all ages with our programs and support.”
In her public relations role, Sturgill will be the spokesperson for SCAS and the point person for all media contacts.
Sturgill says, “I am looking forward to helping make sure all the good work SCAS does is told in a creative, informative way so that we can raise awareness while educating the public in all that we do.”
