SC Bar Foundation names Seiner Executive Director

The South Carolina Bar Foundation welcomes Megan Sweeney Seiner as the Foundation’s new Executive Director, effective February 15, 2016. Seiner will work with the Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors in advancing justice to all South Carolina citizens through the programs and services offered by the nonprofit’s grantee organizations.

Seiner has served as the Director of Externship and Special Academic Programs for the University of South Carolina School of Law since August 2014, where she developed strong relationships with students, alumni, attorneys, and state and federal judges throughout South Carolina. In addition, Seiner also taught the Administrative Law Externship course at the law school. Seiner has been with USC School of Law since 2007, where she also served as the Associate Director of Career Services and the Director of Student Affairs and Externships.

Before coming to USC School of Law, Seiner was an attorney for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and prior to that a trademark attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Seiner received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden and received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management from The Catholic University of America.

In the community, Seiner served on the SC Bar Wellness Committee. She served as the St. Joseph Catholic School Disaster Relief Coordinator, Student Bar Association and SC Bar YLD annual event organizer, and President-elect of the Catholic University of America Board of Governors. Seiner received the SC Bar Star of the Quarter Award, the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Program’s Law Student Wellness Award, and the USC Black Law Students Association’s Faculty Award.
