November 8, 2015SC Bar YLD Hosts Voices Against Violence Shelter Refurbishment Drive
COLUMBIA, SC – The SC Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Voices Against Violence (VAV) Committee is kicking off its annual Shelter Refurbishment Drive by collecting basic tools and gift cards to home improvement stores in Spartanburg, Columbia and Myrtle Beach. The donated tools will be used for a refurbishing project for women’s shelters throughout the state in Spring 2016. Some shelters are in particular need of help due to recent flooding in the state.Items will be collected from Nov. 16 through Dec. 18 at:
- the South Carolina Legal Services Spartanburg Office (148 E. Main St., Spartanburg 29306),
- the SC Bar (950 Taylor St., Columbia 29202) and
- the Pearce Law Group, P.C. (1309 Professional Dr. Ste. 202, Myrtle Beach 29577).
If you have any spare tools, please consider donating this holiday season. Tax-deductible monetary donations are also welcome. Checks should be made payable to the SC Bar YLD Foundation with the Memo “VAV” and mailed to SC Bar, Attn.: Kimberly Snipes, P.O. Box 608, Columbia, SC 29202.

The YLD Voices Against Violence Committee engages young lawyers in efforts to generate awareness of the epidemic of domestic violence and provide support to local shelters.
