SC Chamber statement on budget agreement

June 11, 2022

In response to the South Carolina Budget Conference Committee’s agreement announced this morning, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bob Morgan released the following statement:

“The South Carolina business community would like to thank the members of the budget conference committee for their bold leadership on behalf of our state. This budget agreement represents a significant victory for South Carolina businesses and our workforce. By enacting individual income and industrial property tax cuts, providing technical college scholarships for critical-need jobs, raising teacher starting salaries, and making significant investments in our state’s infrastructure, this budget will help South Carolina businesses continue to recover from the challenges of the pandemic and lay a strong foundation for our economy to flourish in the years to come. We encourage legislators to approve this agreement when they return to the Statehouse.”
