SC Chamber to host Annual Workforce Development Symposium in partnership with SC Department of Employment and Workforce on September 17

September 16, 2025

Workforce recruitment, training, and retention of qualified employees are frequently identified as the top issues impacting South Carolina businesses. In partnership with the SC Department of Employment and Workforce, the Workforce Development Symposium aims to address these issues and provide solutions to support the growth and success of businesses in South Carolina. Join us for a full day of insight, connection, and collaboration at our upcoming workforce development summit, where industry leaders, educators, and community stakeholders come together to shape the future of work.

This year’s Symposium, Presented by Bank of America, will feature a welcome address from Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette along with a keynote address from Kechi Kwizera followed by panels, fireside chats, and plenaries all focused on current workforce development efforts, trends, challenges, and resources available statewide. There will be an opportunity for the media to address Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, SC DEW Director William Floyd and SC Chamber President & CEO Mike Brenan in a separate room during the morning programming – media interested in participating in this interview option should ensure they RSVP ahead of the event. This media room will be available for additional interviews throughout the day as well.
