SC Department of Transportation Equipment Depot In Columbia Awarded 2009 Certification from State Budget and Control Board

COLUMBIA, SC – June 15, 2009 – The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Equipment Depot on Shop Road in Columbia has received its 2009 certification by the SC Budget and Control Board Office of General Services Fleet Management.
The SCDOT facility in Columbia is supervised by James Brooks.
“I am very proud of the hard work by James Brooks and all the employees at our facility in Columbia in achieving certification from the State Budget and Control Board,” Limehouse said. “I congratulate them on a job well done!”
The Maintenance Facility Certification Program requires an annual review of state-owned maintenance facilities to insure compliance with the vehicle maintenance program.
The following areas are reviewed:
- Purchasing of supplies and parts
- Inventory control
- Uniform work order and record-keeping assigning actual maintenance cost to each vehicle
- Preventive maintenance program for each class of vehicle
- Cost-effective facility operations
- Safety
