SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation elects new members to Board of Directors

The Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation Board of Directors welcomed five new members. These individuals will assist the Foundation in achieving its mission of increasing awareness and raising revenues to ensure excellence in the nation’s premier public residential high school for the arts.

“We are excited to expand our board of directors with these five new members,” said Governor’s School Foundation Executive Director, Amanda Herlihy. “As we embark on a new strategic plan to set the future of the Foundation, our new members will bring their passion, skills, and diverse insights and perspectives to fuel our efforts of providing arts education across the state.”

The new board members began their three-year terms with the Foundation on July 1, 2023, and can serve a maximum of two terms. The new members are:

• Jo Bettis, of Greenville, SC, Senior Vice President-Wealth Consultant, First Citizens Wealth Management
• Tamara Buie, of Rock Hill, SC, Chief People Officer, Level Legal
• Carl Maki, of Lexington, SC, Director of Sales-Reinforcing Products Group, South Atlantic Galvanizing
• Stephanie Mundy-Self, of Nashville, TN, Partner, Ferris, Self & Moore, LLC
• Jane Taylor, of Mount Pleasant, SC, Co-Owner, Gatsy Glass of Greater Charleston

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises money to support the Governor’s School. The foundation uses its resources to increase access to the school for students who need financial support, aid the school’s efforts to provide arts education in under-resourced counties, and bridge the gap between state funding and the unique needs of South Carolina’s premier public arts school.
