SC Philharmonic 2019-2020 Season and Opening Concert – Saturday, October 12

Wrapping up a milestone 55th season with the South Carolina Philharmonic, the orchestra announced in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth in 2020, that we are now offering half-priced subscriptions to first year subscribers.
This coming season brings a new look for the South Carolina Philharmonic and a focus the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in 2020. We have added a Sunday matinee performance of our Beethoven and Blue Jeans concert, where we will perform both Symphonies 5 and 6. Click here for our season calendar.
Alongside this international classical music milestone, our guest artists this upcoming season showcase the world class artists who live in our community here in the Midlands. This Masterworks series features local musicians and composers such as, Philip Bush, Mary Lee Taylor Kinosian, James Ackley, and John Fitz Rogers.

Visiones y Música on October 12th is programmed in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This program features music from and inspired by Mexico, Central, and South America. Composers include Marquez, Piazzolla, Copland, and Revueltas. The music is accompanied by stunning photography of Mexico, choreographed by our artistic partners, Westwater Arts.
