SCDEW appoints director of communications and marketing

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce announced the appointment of Robert “Bob” Bouyea as director of communications and marketing. Bouyea will lead the Department’s strategic communications and marketing initiatives, and he will serve as the agency’s spokesman.
Bouyea has more than 25 years of experience in the news business, the last 11 with SC Business Publications. His last position with SC Biz was as publisher of the Columbia Regional Business Report, which he came to Columbia to launch in 2008. Previously, he was the executive editor of the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
Bouyea worked as a reporter and editor for several newspapers around the country. He also worked as an executive director for LRP Publications, a business-to-business publisher located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Bouyea holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Colorado Mesa University. He and his wife, Annette, live in Columbia. They have two daughters.
