SCDOT launches Speakers Bureau

August 9, 2017

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announces the opening of a Speakers Bureau in an effort to make SCDOT staff available to groups seeking to hear more about the agency’s efforts to rebuild our infrastructure.

SCDOT announced a 10-Year Plan to rebuild the state’s roads following the passage of the Roads Bill on July 1, 2017. SCDOT speakers are prepared to detail the 10-Year Plan to gradually improve South Carolina’s road system after 30 years of underfunded highway and bridge maintenance.

Secretary of Transportation Christy Hall said the Speakers Bureau is another venue for the public to make contact with SCDOT. “We consider accountability, transparency and public outreach to be very important issues at SCDOT. We want the public to have every opportunity to understand how we are conducting their business. SCDOT is about to embark on an ambitious, yet gradual program to rebuild our roads. The Speakers Bureau will provide a way for groups to hear how this plan will unfold,” said Hall.

Groups interested in scheduling an SCDOT speaker on the 10-Year Plan or any other agency-related subjects should submit a request through the SCDOT web site: www.scdot.org or use this direct link: http://www.scdot.org/scdotwebforms/speakerbureau.aspx
