SCDOT receives a “Clean Audit” of Agency’s Finances for seventh consecutive year
December 5, 2024The South Carolina Department of Transportation was presented with an unmodified, or “clean audit” for the fiscal year 2023-2024. This report marks the seventh consecutive year the agency’s financial operations have received an unmodified review. The audit was conducted by the independent firm of Mauldin & Jenkins, a southeastern regional firm.
Commissioner Barnwell Fishburne represents the 6th Congressional District and Chairs the Commission’s Audit Committee. Fishburne said, “This report is another example that we are making good use of our resources at SCDOT and investing in the future of South Carolina’s roads and its people.”
Chair of the Commission Pamela Christopher said, “Once again, I am delighted to hear that the talent of our team at SCDOT continues with this seventh consecutive clean audit report. This report shows that we have continued to deliver on our promise to serve the people of South Carolina by completing programs and projects.”
Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell said, “At SCDOT, our efforts are focused on using our resources to improve roadways and move South Carolina forward. I am proud to hear that the team at SCDOT has successfully completed another year furthering that mission. We will continue to focus on completing the goals we’ve laid out.”
The annual audit was presented at a meeting of the SCDOT Commission Audit Committee held in Columbia on December 5.
