SCE&G Program Helps Business Customers Reduce Energy Costs

South Carolina businesses are reducing their expenses and saving energy with SCE&G’s EnergyWise for Your Business program. In 2017, SCE&G paid more than $3.2 million in incentives to help business customers with lighting and other energy upgrades.
SCE&G’s EnergyWise for Your Business Program helps nonresidential customers replace aging, inefficient equipment and systems with energy-efficient technologies. Using a combination of financial incentives and technical assistance, the program is flexible and meets the needs of a wide variety of businesses.
“Our two program options – custom and prescriptive – ensure that we have solutions that will help as many businesses as possible improve their energy efficiency,” said Annika Goodson, who manages the EnergyWise for your Business program for SCE&G. “SCE&G customers can figure out the best approach for their businesses by calling us before getting started, which will also help ensure all approvals are in place before work begins.”
The program’s prescriptive approach offers predetermined incentives for a wide selection of proven energy-efficiency technologies, including:
- Lighting (retrofits)
- New construction lighting
- HVAC unitary systems
- HVAC chillers
- HVAC variable frequency drives
- Food service and high-efficiency equipment
The program’s custom approach offers incentives for more complex and site-specific energy-efficiency projects, such as:
- Energy management systems
- Compressed air systems
- Whole Building Solutions
- Building Tune-Up
