SCE&G to begin natural gas pipeline installation project in Chapin

SCE&G will begin a project in September to install additional natural gas infrastructure in the Chapin area. The company will install approximately 17,500 ft. of steel natural gas pipeline from Jake Eargle Road to Crooked Creek Road in Chapin. Road closures and delays will be announced through local media outlets, but are not expected to be significant or prolonged. SCE&G expects to finish the project by the end of 2017.
“This project helps ensure that we are well equipped to meet our customers’ natural gas needs as the population in the Chapin area continues to grow,” said Felicia Howard, vice president of gas operations for SCE&G. “The upgrades will help us continue to provide clean, safe and reliable natural gas to customers for years to come.”
