SCETV launches new YouTube channels focused on news and learning
April 2, 2026South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) has expanded the ways viewers can access content with the launch of two YouTube channels, one dedicated to news content and one dedicated to content for educators and students. By launching these channels, South Carolinians and viewers from around the world will have streamlined access to trusted information, learning resources and original local content.
The new channels complement SCETV’s main YouTube channel, where viewers can continue to find local South Carolina series and personalities, featured regional programming and behind-the-scenes content, as well as curated playlists highlighting everything from music to monthly observances. SCETV also offers YouTube users the option to become a channel member. Being a channel member includes loyalty badges, members-only videos, archival content and early access to select videos.
The SCETV News YouTube channel brings SCETV’s local journalism together in one central location, featuring daily headlines and programs such as This Week in South Carolina, the South Carolina Lede, Palmetto Perspectives, IMPACT SC and My Telehealth, along with field reporting and ongoing coverage of issues affecting South Carolinians. State House Today provides live coverage of the South Carolina House and Senate during the legislative session. The channel also serves as a hub for live weather updates during inclement weather and livestreams of Gov. Henry McMaster’s press conferences, ensuring timely access to critical information.
The SCETV Education YouTube channel highlights content designed to support learners of all ages. The channel features programs such as The Cool and the Strong, When I See Myself, I See… and SCETV Safe Space, along with featuring SC Skillionaires, the NextLens Film Festival and Exercise with Smart Cat. The SCETV Education YouTube channel is designed to amplify young voices while creating a supportive environment that bridges creative expression with practical learning. In addition to career-focused and early learning content, the channel includes material created for and about educators, including curriculum resources and professional development opportunities.
The three YouTube channels are live and available for viewers to access South Carolina-related news and educational content statewide and beyond. Viewers are encouraged to subscribe to stay connected with ongoing coverage, educational resources and new content as it becomes available.
