School communications leaders named to SC/NSPRA executive board
July 11, 2018The South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (SC/NSPRA) announces its executive board for the 2018–2019 year. SC/NSPRA is an affiliate of the National School Public Relations Association. The state chapter is composed of over 106 school public relations practitioners, superintendents and other educational professionals from across the state. The organization strives to foster development in the field of school public relations and to encourage meaningful community involvement in and understanding of the public school system.
The 2018-2019 Executive Board includes:
- President: Becky Bean, Communications Manager, South Carolina School Boards Association
- President-Elect: Melissa Robinette, Director of Public Relations, District Five Schools of Spartanburg County
- Vice President: Chris McKagen, Communications Specialist, Darlington County School District
- Secretary: Adrian Acosta, Director of Public Relations, Spartanburg School District 2
- Past President: Johnathan Graves, Community Services Facilitator, Greenwood School District 50
- Upstate Representative: Joe Burke, Chief Communications Officer, Fort Mill Schools
- Midlands Representatives: Ryan Brown, Chief Communications Officer, SC Department of Education and Merry Glenne Piccolino, Director of Communications, Aiken County Public Schools
- Low Country Representative: Lashanda Grant, Public Information Officer, Jasper County School District
- Rewards for Excellence Co-chairs: Julie Putnam, Webmaster, Kershaw County School District and Mike Rosier, Communications
- Coordinator, Aiken County Public Schools and Evonne Washington, Public Relations Secretary, Spring Valley High School
