School District Five names interim principal for Seven Oaks Elementary School
July 29, 2024Lexington-Richland School District Five has named longtime administrator Dr. Angie Slatton as the interim principal of Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet.
Slatton currently serves as the district’s director of special services, a role she has occupied since 2014. She has also worked at the State Department of Education as a grant director and as a special education teacher.
“I am blessed to have been entrusted to take on the role of interim principal for Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet.,” Slatton said. “I am deeply honored and excited to embark on this journey of leadership and learning with our dedicated staff, supportive families, and incredible students. I look forward to working closely with the Seven Oaks community to love and grow our students.”
Slatton has been in education nearly 30 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history and her master’s degree in secondary social studies from Winthrop University. She earned her doctorate in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.
“Dr. Slatton is a dynamic leader who has extensive experience meeting the educational needs of all learners,” said School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr. “She is focused on inspiring others to support students in all aspects of education.”
