January 14, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – January 13, 2009 – “Music Play,” the University of South Carolina School of Music’s popular musical-development program for young children, is accepting registration for spring classes.
“Music Play” is an innovative preschool music program by the school’s Children’s Music Development Center. Classes are designed to enhance young children’s musical development and foster their love for music.
Each class is filled with singing and movement activities to encourage children to develop their own musical abilities. The program is based on the book, “Music Play, The Early Childhood Music Curriculum,” by Dr. Edwin Gordon and associate professor Dr. Wendy Valerio.
Weekly classes last 30 minutes and will run from Jan. 21 to April 21. Classes will be held in Room 108 of the School of Music, at the corner of College and Assembly streets. The enrollment fee is $100, and children must be accompanied by an adult during classes.
