Science and Mathematics Governor’s School Kicks off GoSciTech
June 12, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – The Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) will kick off GoSciTech, the School’s annual, residential, summer camp experience, on Sunday, June 15, 2014. The camp, which takes place on the GSSM campus in Hartsville, will run for four weeks: June 15 – 21, June 22 – 28, July 6 – 12, and July 13-19.
Serving rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders, GoSciTech provides unmatched opportunities to explore science and technology in an interactive and fun environment while living on GSSM’s Hartsville campus. All camps are led by college, university and GSSM professors, along with other professionals in their respective fields. Students select one from a list of 27 course options to focus their study per week.
Courses offered this summer include, but are not limited to: Astrophysics, Pre-med & Anatomy, Digital Forensic Science, Game Theory, Genetics with DNA Analysis, Pharmacology, CSI-GSSM, Tour of Engineering, Marine Biology, and Carolina201, a race engineering course using Darlington Raceway as an outdoor lab.
