SCMC recognizes 92 South Carolina facilities for outstanding safety achievements
March 17, 2026South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce (SCMC) honored 92 industrial facilities across the state for their exceptional workplace safety performance in 2025.
“When SCMC celebrates our annual safety awards, it’s with an eye not on meeting standards – but on setting higher ones. Even in the most dynamic work environments – where employees are building the products for which our state is most recognizable – safety is the highest priority for South Carolina companies,” said SCMC President and CEO Sara Hazzard. “That legacy makes these SCMC Safety Awards so important. I hope each company recognized today takes great pride in this achievement and continues to strive to be the best.”
Facilities were nominated for the SCMC Safety Award based on a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers, or work restrictions. To earn this recognition, plants had to achieve an incident rate below the statewide average for their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.
The awards were presented during the 2026 South Carolina Safety and Environmental Summit in Spartanburg. The event brings together environmental, health, and safety professionals from across industries to share best practices, strengthen compliance, and advance a culture of safety across South Carolina’s business community.
